The Selva Viva is a boat owned by a French-Peruvian No-Profit Organization. Built in the 2007 in Iquitos, it is a Brazilian style wooden boat, with a maximum capacity of 9 passengers. It has one matrimonial room with a fan, 3 double cabins, 1 simple cabin and 2 shared-bathrooms. The Selva Viva is characterized by its eco-friendly, comfortable and simple style. Perfect for small groups and families who want to live the Amazonian adventure with a responsible approach and in agreement with the local communities values. Close to local guides you will discover the unique fauna and flora of the area, a very genuine and authentic contact with the rural populations, plus exceptional gastronomy. We are waiting for you on board to feel the authenticity of the Peruvian Amazon!

Day 1:
Welcome at the airport or your hotel in the morning (around 8h30) and transfer to the Selva Viva. Departure of the cruise sailing up the Amazon river. Lunch will be served on the sundeck where you will be amazed by the beautiful landscapes. Arrival in the afternoon at Tamshyacu Creek. Excursion on the skiff for a first contact with the tropical jungle. Dinner and night on board.

Day 2:
Breakfast on board while the ship sails up the Amazon to the village of Canaan in the narrow tributary of Tahuayo. We will discover the daily activities of inhabitants and observe the canopy from the hills. Lunch on board while we sail to Yacapana lagoon. We will observe grey and pink dolphins from skiffs at sunset. Dinner and night on board.

Day 3:
Early in the morning, we will explore the lagoons around Yacapana for a great birdwatching experience. We will observe many different species: egrets, kingfishers, horned screamers, hawks,... Breakfast on board during the navigation to Samaria. A three-hour hike will take us to the village of Tapira Chico, in a black water creek where the boat will await for us. The local guide will explain the use of medicinal plants. You will appreciate the unbelievable biodiversity of the area. Fishing session at sunset. Dinner and night on board in this wild site.

Day 4:
Breakfast on board while we sail down the Amazon. Stop to visit a traditional shipwright of Amazonian wooden boats. Last small hike in the jungle to observe the tamarin monkeys with a local guide. Back to the boat for lunch. Arrival in Iquitos around 3 PM. Transfer to the airport or to your hotel.
